“ORDO Group” representatives have returned from Cannes, where they participated in the 27th international property event MIPIM held from 15 to 18 March. Contacts with large investors, new ideas in architecture and property development were acquired as a result of the business trip.

89 countries and 2445 companies participated in the event in Cannes this year. Over 1200 property developers and 350 municipalities (including Riga) participated in the representative forum aiming to attract the interest of almost 5000 investors gathered in Cannes.

“ORDO Group” was represented at the event by the Chairman of the Board of the company Ivars Rudzitis (Ivars Rudzītis) and the Managing Director and Partner Jelena Rudzite (Jeļena Rudzīte). This is the third visit to Cannes of representatives of the company. “ORDO Group” participated in MIPIM in 2013 for the first time and in 2015 subsequently. The extensive ground work done during the last year allowed the company to present itself on a new level and exploit to the fullest the opportunities offered by this outstanding and influential forum.

A most important achievement was participation in the traditional investors lunch – a closed and very important event, which gathers the largest and most influential global players – investment companies, funds and powerful associations of property developers. This resulted in high level contacts that allow for strategic development and planning. According to Jelena Rudzite international investors are primarily interested in large-scale projects and they have shown interest in the Baltic market. The problem is the lack of large-scale projects with cash flow and large investment projects supported by the state and municipalities.

A three party meeting was organised during MIPIM with the participation of the Mayor of Riga Nils Usakovs (Nils Ušakovs), Jelena Rudzite and Telman Abbasov - FIABCI World Council Developers and Investors President. A continuation of this relationship could provide an opportunity for Riga to establish its positions among cities, which are attractive for potential investment.
